1977 Miller - Meteor Lifeliner.

Groves & Co. Funeral Home and Ambulance Service of Flint, MI operated three 1977 Lifeliners.  Purchsed brand new by Jim Burnett in 1977 these Cadillacs were the only units Groves had under the ownership of Burnett.  The original order was placed for six Miller - Meteor Cadillacs however, after delivery of the first three the service did not expand as anticipated with the City of Flint starting it's own transporting ambulance service.  The remaining three ambulances were never delivered to Groves.  This service operated in the late 70's and early 80's.
After closing it's doors, the funeral home was purchased by Sharp - Swartz.  The ambulances were liquidated by Dennis Distributors an M - M Dealer in Flint at the time.
Funeral Director Harry Swartz of Grand Blanc, MI continues to operate a Funeral Home based Ambulance service, although using vans ambulances now.
The streets of Flint can be rough at times.
The auto body repair expertise of Groves employee David Miller EMT, corrected this damage and the car was placed back in service in just a few days.
